Confirmation is the sacrament of initiation in which a baptized Catholic, through prayers, imposition of hands and the anointing with chrism, receives a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit that completes Baptismal grace. This sacrament impresses a character, and by it the baptized, continuing on the path of Christian initiation, are enriched by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church.
Third Grade through Fifth Grade
The Archdiocesan plan for the Sacramental Restored Order means children will be prepared in the 3rd grade and up to receive First Communion and Confirmation at the same ceremony.
Students who will be prepared for First Confession, Confirmation, and First Communion are expected to complete the following two-part program:
Part 1: Participation for young people at “Nazareth” during the 9:30 am or 11:00 am Masses in the Liturgy of the Word for children.
Part 2: Special Preparation classes for parents and children together on certain Wednesday evenings during the year.
The cost is $75 per student with no more than $150 per registered family.
Middle School/High School (For any sacraments from Baptism through Confirmation) Tuesdays 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Students will be placed in small groups by age. Small groups will meet monthly to show their work, discuss assigned topics, and participate in group activities as they build a Faith portfolio/notebook. There will be some large group activities which include Mass on Holy Days and other special events. The cost is $75 per student with no more than $150 per registered family.
